3. 语法项目

限制性定语从句与非限制性定语从句。

限制性定语从句通常跟在先行词后，对先行词起修饰和限定的作用。非限制性定语从句起补充说明的作用，若省去该从句，原主句意义不受影响，其形式用逗号与主句隔开，翻译时常译成另一分句，不能用that和why引导。

He heard a terrible noise, which brought his heart into his mouth. Two hundred people died in the accident, most of whom were children.
